I heart Bánh Mì

Not so recently, I was in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam for a long weekend  While my trip was not by any stretch of the imagination a particularly enjoyable one, I did enjoy the bánh mì. It has charcuterie, greens, and cheese in a wonderful airy single serve baguette. What's not to love?

While I had the sandwich from a variety of sources, the dressiest one I had was at RuNam Bistro, located on Pasteur Street--yup, named after the father of microbiology. RuNam serves it on a wooden cutting board and at first glance looks like an open face sandwich. But notice the brown paper on which the sandwich sits diagonally. Fold two opposing edges together and ¡voila! Bánh mì, baby!

RuNam Bistro in Pasteur Street. It was the dragonfly that got me.
